The Shivalik Educational Welfare Society was set up in 2004 with the objective of providing educational facilities in first instance on vocational courses so that the local youth could find jobs opportunity in private. Govt. sector or work as independent entrepreneurs, Initially, Govt. of HP entrusted us the opportunity to start vocational and industrial courses including Diplomas in Art & Craft, Ayurveda Pharmacist. Physical Training Instructor and other allied courses.
Thereafter, society decided to focus on nursing education keeping in view the increasing demands of trained nursing professionals across the country and the fact that the state did not have any institutions offering such Nursing related courses.
Founded in 2009, Shivalik Institute of Nursing, stands as a beacon of excellence in nursing education and healthcare training has built a strong reputation for nurturing skilled, compassionate, and globally competent nursing professionals. This nursing institute attached for clinical training to the apex government health care institution, the Indira Gandhi Medical College & Hospital Shimla (IGMC) & Kamla Nehru Hospital apart & parcel of IGMC which is the oldest medical Institution of the HP equipped with all kind of modern facilities for higher education in the medical stream
